All walkers will open a JustGiving page under the Yes to Life team! Follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit justgiving.com/campaign/y2lglobalcamino and click "Start Fundraising". This will ensure your fundraising page is a part of the Global Camino Challenge team page!
  2. Answer the questions when creating the page. You can choose to participate in the official event by searching "Global Camino Challenge". Make sure to add photos and a little blurb about why you're joining the Global Camino Challenge. Adding a personal touch makes people more likely to donate!
  3. Set a goal! Our overall goal is £100,000 but you can set your own goal. Since your page is linked to the team page, your donations will feed into the total. Challenge yourself and your supporters to meet your goal. Need help fundraising? Check out our A - Z Fundraising ideas for inspiration!
  4. Publish your page! Some tips to maximise your fundraising:
    1. Self-donate to get the ball rolling.
    2. Share your link with friends, family, coworkers, and social media.
    3. Update to keep your donors engaged! Post how your training is going, share pictures, videos, and thank yous to donors. Learn how to connect your Strava app to your page!
    4. Have fun!

Everyone’s needs are different. Costs will go up or down depending on what you want from your experience.
Please be aware that payments for your Camino trip cannot come out of your fundraising.

If you decide to go ad-hoc, a good starting point estimation is about £500 not including flights. However, this can change depending on your needs!

If you want stress-free booking, you can book to stay in the same places as the Yes to Life team! Check out more information under the "What's the Yes to Life Team Doing?" tab on the left.

Some things to consider that affect the cost of your trip:

  • Types of Accommodation – private room? Or shared hostel?
  • Food – Included with your stay? Or will you buy your own locally?
  • Luggage – carrying it all? Or do you want a luggage transfer service from stop to stop?
  • Insurance – Do you feel comfortable without it?
  • Certification – Do you want your official Camino stamps?

There is a lot you can bring while on the Camino. If you have chosen luggage transfer option, then you can leave your nightime needs, extra clothing, etc in your bigger suitcase. If you are carrying your belongings, its important to bring only the essentials!

  • Comfortable shoes - make sure to break them in!
  • Water bottle
  • Suncream
  • Walking Sticks - please check with your airline if you can take these with your carry-on!
  •  Any important medication

Check out our Camino Checklist here!
